Under The Whispering Door by TJ Klune. A fantasy for young adults up. Wallace Price a self absorbed man dies and is taken by a reaper to a halfway station to come to terms with his life and death. There he meets Hugo, the owner of a tea shop who is there to help him cross over to the next part of the journey. The time at the tea shop teaches Wallace to find the beauty in life and he learns to love.
