My book is not an allegory because the people in the book do not align with a specific event.

In the book, the auther has not really explained events in a specific order. This makes it kind of hard to summerize what has happened in the book. So far the author talked about Jerry Garcia's childhood. He was born in California and at an early age, his father died. Shortly after, part of one of his 10 fingers was cut off which would affect his life for as long as he lived.

The frontman for the band, The Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia had a very tramatizing childhood. In the beggining of the story, when the auther is explaining Jerry's childhood, the auther talks about a tramatic expierience he had, "A few months before his father's death, he suffered another loss" (25).

The tone of the book is psychedelic. I think this because the band The Grateful Dead, used a lot of psychedelic drugs such as LSD. The author talks about what each member sees while they are hallucinating.

There have not been any major pivotal moments in this book yet, but there are a few small ones. One small pivotal moment would be when the Grateful Dead front man, Jerry Garcia, tried the phsycodelic drug, LSD for the first time. This was important in his career because it sparked many ideas and creativity for Jerry as an idividual and for the rest of the band.

The setting in this book takes place between the 1960's and the 1970's. Most of the events in the story takes place in California. There is not a specific place and time of every event that takes place in the book.

This book is about the band, The Grateful Dead. I think something from this book that applies to my life is the love in studying and playing music. I have learned that I started playing an instrument younger than any band member of The Grateful Dead did, which is pretty odd to think about because I would like to be a proffesional musician.

So far, the author, Dennis Mcnally, is describing the feeling everyone puts off before a Grateful Dead concert. He describes the feeling as suspended and tranquil. He also says that the band does not arrive very early before the show and that the doors stay closed.
