The Japanese government forced captured American POWs and Filipino prisoners to carry wounded soldiers for 53 miles, without food or water. If anyone asked for water, they would be killed. If you slowed down the march, you were executed.

This just shows a disregard for not just international law, but for anyone who values their life.
