I don’t know if I ever would’ve read this book on my own but I’m so glad I was encouraged to and did. By the last few pages I was crying. Mourning with the narrator and realizing that all stories must end (or at least move on without us). It’s a hard read, not intellectually but emotionally, although I think it provides plenty of food for thought. In the end, at its core, it’s just so human. 8.5/10

Sad moments but this seems like things are looking up. Do I dare hope?

I’ve completed neglected logging this book. It was a slow start for me. Little nibbles here and there but historical fiction isn’t really my cup of tea. But NOW? I couldn’t put it down. I wish I was paid to read because it’s all I wanted to do. This book has a sort of poetry in its style. It’s so beautiful and poignant and a little sad.
