I appreciate that this isn’t a basic unicorn/magic young adult book. So many I’ve read have been “girl meets magic pony, family doesn’t believe her, magic adventure commenced yada yada”
It kind of reminds me of Tanith Lee’s Unicorn series, which is very much a compliment
