I would like to posit that opening a locked desk drawer to find a thriving, unpotted plant feeding off and a mouse corpse is one of the least weird things to occur in an American office.

I saw an ungodly amount of people simping for corporations in 2023, and it's given me a strong urge for some weird corporate horror.

So many people are dark on this book but god, I love it. Annihilation is lushly unsettling but nothing in it is as spooky as carpet squares,
fluorescent lighting, and flocks of middle-aged employees who have no idea what their job is or how long they get to keep it.
