The pacing is superb and there’s always something new and interesting going on, there’s no unnecessary scenes it just skips the boring ones but it doesn’t seem to quick either love it.

Everything’s really hit the fan now! Can barely put the book down, it felt a little rushed at the end but maybe that’s because I’ve been reading so quickly to find out more.

I’m still really enjoying this book! The story moves in ways I don’t expect and I’m just as lost as the main character. In all the book I’ve read so far I was only caught out by the fact that Anna was grounded and couldn’t leave her room for a week but there was no mention of her using the bathroom. They reference how she couldn’t shower, and her aunt fed her once a day but that’s all.

The story took a turn I didn’t expect, a friendship group of witches. All with a different story to tell and I appreciate that the main character isn’t the girl who knows nothing of magic, but the one who wants what she thinks she can’t have. The desire is much more immersive than the blank slate.

I’d been dreading starting this book just from the size but I’ve gone through a decent chunk already. The story is engaging and mysterious, and it reminds me of a grown up version of a book I read as a child. A coming of age magical story, but with a new darker undertone. I’m looking forward to reading more!
