It's taking so damn long to finish this book, but I can't seem to shake this cold and it's making it hard to focus and stay awake. I'm at the part where they're climbing the mountain and one of the gryphons was just eaten by a wyvern.

Been super sick the past two days and haven't read as much as normal, but Holy Shit! Jack Barlowe?! Ma'am....no freaking way did you freaking do this to us miss Yarros. Really!? I mean come on.
If the enemy gets him, can she at least get her mom to be on the good side(secretly of course)? Like, I think that'd be a fair handoff at this point.

God I wished they'd figure their shit out already. The back and forth is driving wedges between her and everyone around her. But they want to be with each other at the same time. His character is so hypocritical that it kind of pisses me off. And she knows how dangerous the whole thing is but she isn't keeping a check on the wards in her mind often enough. It's so frustrating.

Violet needs to keep her head or she is going to get everyone killed. I get growth but she seems a little overly tempered compared to the first book. With good reason but it takes more than a year to change someone. I guess given the stress of everything though... We'll see.

I understand why they have to go back, but she just woke up to her brother being alive after mourning his death for 6 years.

This book is about 100 ish more pages than book one and it took me 3/4 days total to read it. Not including the 2 day gap I took to finish my Christmas haul books.
There is so much at play in the plot running off from book one that the emotions from it are still lingering. I've seen fanart of scenes from book 2 and I know this one's gonna do me dirty too.
I know not all characters can survive but please let Rhi?!
