I just finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird and so far, I am not liking this novel. The characters and author's voice do not sound the same. Scout's character is too awkwardly and unrealistically modern. The flashbacks feel random and seem to lack relevance to the plot line from which they are departing. I think I need to put this aside and try it again later when To Kill a Mockingbird is not so fresh in my mind.
