I have actually put this book down for now. When I was younger (early 20s) I used to love Amis. Now I am finding this one a bit puerile and tedious. I am up to page 30, still 450 pages to go and I get the feeling that life is too short to drag yourself through books you don't really care about. I don't tolerate bad tv so why waste 10 times that amount of time finishing this book?
