eerie...that MA wrote this in the '80s. She knew, even back then, about a world where bookstores were being shut down and Muslims blamed for everything. And like today, the people in the novel are put in rigid categories and labeled. The author is masterful at describing the main character's thought processes-- paranoid, then rational, which is it?--as she tries to stay alive.
