I love this book, but at least in the beginning, it's so thick with big concepts that, by the time I sit down to read it at the end of a day, it's all I can do to wrap my head around one page of it.

Okay, I'm barely into this book, but it has already offered the most intuitive explanation and illustrations I've ever seen of the formation of the solar system, the Earth, and the moon. Also I now have a better understanding of how the Earth's magnetic field cones about, and some of the dynamics of the crust and mantle. This book is delightful.
