This started out being a good book. It had good characterization, nice imagery, and it seemed well put together. However I do not agree with the ending whats over. It's just too unbelievable and I don't buy any of it. The theme is about sacrifice, which I see clearly in the beginning and middle, but it seems to almost turn to the exact opposite in the end.

The tone of each character changes my view of the plot that is going on in the story. I really like how the point of view changes characters and you get a different perspective.

Jodi Picoult creates a great writing style that seems to add to the conflict. The point of view switches from 4 characters, which gives you a different sense of what's going on, and creates a little bit of dramatic irony.
