Right now in defiance I feel it is kind of getting a little boring. Toby goes on a walk to see the cow that he likes to see and feed. On that walk he meets the owner of the cow named pearl and goes to her house and helped her read the mail and milk the cow. The only interesting part so far has been when Toby talks about a friend he has that had cancer too and the relationship between the two.

Right now in defiance a lot is going on. Toby is getting ready to move back and go to the hospital I can't believe that blossom the cow died. Toby had such a deep connection to her and now she is gone. At least Toby and Pearl stand right next to her through the last moments of her life. Toby still doesn't want to leave. Not only because he is going to have to go to the hospital but because he has to leave Pearl.

I can't believe how good defiance is becoming. Toby finally shared that his life was in jeopardy. Although he won't tell his parents he will express everything to pearl. He told him about his fears and about how he feels about chemo. Pearl has a really deep talk and even talks about her love life. Somehow Toby finds out that pearl is famous. I found this interesting because pearl doesn't act like she would be.

Right now I am beginning to see why the author decided to have Toby meet Pearl. Pearl has made Toby understand the importance of life and family. Although this is a good thing it makes him not want to tell anyone about the lump on his side.I really think that Toby should tell someone about the lump on his side. I don't know how he could not tell anyone.

So far I like trying use the little details that the author gives me to help comprehend what the author is saying. I still am questioning Toby's reasoning for not telling his parents that he has a lump in his side. Although he has already had cancer and doesn't want to go through the process again, he doesn't realize the risk of dying and by the time they find out it will be to late for them to help him.
