I started to think about how all 3 mothers of Kyra share one husband. In the story its said that all three mothers sometimes hate each other because of jealousy. Then Kyra started thinking that if she married Josh will he have multiple wives. Will she be more like a 3rd wife than a 1st wife.

Kyra's uncle is trying to teach his brother(Kyra's father) disciplinary. SO they get the youngest child and they drown her in ice cold water. She's still alive though.
