In Out Of The Dust there was big symbolism in the dust. I thought that the dust symbolized the bad things in Billie Joe's life. She described that where ever you are, out of no where the dust can creep in, and ruin your day. But, if you can seem to work with the dust and the bad of the world, it can make you stronger.
