I'm skeptical about the pacing, but things appear to finally be picking up... I'm determined to finish this book either way since I spent my hard-earned birthday gift card money on it.

For some reason, I can't stop imagining Juan as Bill Skarsgård, but the description doesn't really match aside from the paleness and height. Oh well. I'm just gonna roll with it. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
