I think the overall tone of the book is a humbling reminder: pastors are not the Christ, glorify God in the regular things of life IS pastoral ministry. The normal Christian life realizes our dependence.
However, risk is right. Hebrews 11, the Apostles in Acts, William Carey, etc. No, we shouldn’t use worldly success for pastoral ministry. Yet, I worry this book could neuter courageous, bold, strong, ministry.
