Her story in an anthology of Japanese Crime & Mystery stories I read recently was not my favourite, was more like a Horror tale trapped in a “Detective fiction” anthology, was icky and “get it off my plate!”-y, and even kind of pissed me off. But, somehow, all of that made me want to read her stuff again. I’ve got to see this weirdness in a novel!

I’m pretty hooked on this, the plot is quite fascinating. I’ll finish it up tomorrow - it’s been a long, strange day, and once again books have been the escape. Even better when they’re good!

This is a good one. Maybe a little easy to figure out…of course I say that now, and get the cutlery and a napkin ready for eating my words later. Anyway, it’s a bit like The Bride Wore Black by Woolrich, which is fine with me. A little bit Japrisot, or maybe Pascal Garnier, a non-Maigret Simenon, all that kind of stuff. I’m now very happy I’ve got The Master Key by her, as well.
