Pretty much anything by Shirlee Busbee. My favorite was Deceive Not My Heart, which I read at age 15 i think. Have you read it?
Just finished reading Elizabeth Hoyt for the 100x. Kerrigan isn’t my favorite, except for her Fiona series. Shirlee busbee sounds new though!
That’s why I mentioned Busbee. She was a big bestselling author in the 1980s but somehow faded from romancelandia’s awareness. I was hoping she would be new to you for that reason.

Island Flame was terrible. There was a sequel too and it wasn’t an improvement.
I’ll second The Wind Dancer and Iris Johnasen’s historicals generally (I recall really liking Lion’s Bride).
