If an author who has written only YA contemporary books published something YA paranormal (with full announcement that it's paranormal, so not to confuse people), would that be totally weird or could you roll with it? Would it be too much of a jump?

Of course it wouldn't be too much of a jump! So many authors do it, and people will love your books irrespective of whether they're contemporary or paranormal!
