So the fake dating + grumpy/sunshine is cute, and you can forgive things in fiction that you wouldn't in real life, but the fact that's he's such an ass is still hard for me to get around. People acting like him in academia isn't just a personality problem, it's also a diversity problem imo. I'm also doubtful that 1 mo will convince his dept, they should spread the word they've been secretly dating longer.

Interested to see what this book is like. I've been a bit confused because I've seen a lot of hype for it as good women in STEM rep, but I've also heard that it's a grad student + Prof romance which sounds. . . bad? (In the first few pages so far, he's sounded kind of judgey about her not having enough money for new contacts, which would seem to highlight some of the issues with that.) Hoping it's a good romcom tho
