This book is very heavy on world building without any character driven elements which is leaving it feeling like someone talking at me.

Things are happening but I’m still not invested, I want to care but I’m not sure why I don’t

We have two stories running side by side but I feel like they might not be the same timeline, one story is the past explaining why the family is royalty with powers hiding with the humans.

It’s very slow to set up the story which leads me to believe this is going to be a big series. I’m not completely invested in the characters but the story is intriguing, despite being very slow
