bought this book last month in zurich and started reading at a park. love the main guy, the way he conducts himself and acts around others reminds me of joe pera. seeing buena vista social club mentioned in his bio blurb on the back made me tear up because we watched a doc about them in high school spanish and i return to their self titled album often. anyway diving back into the book now after a few weeks off. :)!

on a new short story here and it’s about musicians, told by a guy who makes clothing for them. cooder is doing a great job w dialect and language and you can really hear how each guy is talking, black and latino slang/spanglish interacting in conversation. nice
