picking through this book extremely slowly (along with the brief introduction Kowean book) but I really prefer this pace. so far Barash seems to be breaking down Buddhism through his own lens, tossing a few quotes by well known scientists around in order to do so. waiting to see a powerful argument presented.

still taking my time. He lost me from time to time in the anitya chapter, but the concept of constant change even on the gene level was cool to me and s/t i've always strongly believed in. Also, strangely enough anatman has b/c clearer to me through a biological lens; for that I am grateful, for this was what turned me away from Buddhism in the first place ("How can I be not myself when the evidence is right here!")
