I think that Jeremy’s profound love for Colt and insane loyalty after death would have been more believable if they had been together for longer, like, a solid long-term relationship. A crush-turned-relationship that lasted a mere 4 weeks doesn’t cut it for staying away from your SOUL MATE. Crushing is not the same as loving, no matter how long he crushed before they got together.

Jeremy’s attitude towards Correan is so immature. Thinking about him as “you know who” and “that certain alien I wasn’t thinking about” is plain childish and ridiculous, especially for a book meant for an adult audience. Pushing him away when awake and then being annoyed that he doesn’t show up in his dreams doesn’t make me empathize with him but actually dislike him.
