I'm half-way through and not sure if the author made a right choice. He sets off on foot, no money and is relying on strangers to feed, shelter and provide transportation for him as he thumbs rides. He uses a sign instead of his thumb.. He will accept no money. So far, he has been taken on a scary ride and feared for his life more than once. Seems there are those that trust enough to take him to their homes
