I'm laughing over this and crying - hopelessly romantic and sentimental in places, but astonishingly good writing - Luisa feels real - not so sure about the men - they all seem to merge together. Waiting to see if we are taken into Felicity's mind.

It seems very sentimental at times, but then I think she captures, sights, sounds, or a particular scene really well. Her father was the famous poet George Barker - and I think his daughter might well have his gift - but a novel doesn't seem quite the right form for her. We'll see.
