Somehow the lead character manages to be incredibly smart and also so naive that she is successfully manipulated by literally every man in her orbit. This book is a mix of “I’m not a regular girl, I’m a cool girl” with a bad hallmark movie about feminism.

Despite the main character staking almost all of her identity on having interests beyond men and marriage, up to this point this story manages to revolve entirely around both.
