Jayson
Jayson is starting

Notes:
(1) This one's going to be interesting. We get the shift from a single-creator vision to a collaborative endeavor.
- McFarlane does one issue at the start, then hands over art duties (save for one inking job) to Greg Capullo, and writing to Grant Morrison among others.
- Of course, this is 1990s Capullo, having yet evolved to his current/instantly-recognizable style.

Jayson’s Previous Updates

Jayson
Jayson is on page 145 of 157

Notes:
(1) Grant Morrison's never been top tier to me, and his story here's about average for him.
- A fairly poignant ending elevates a not-particularly-memorable arc.
(2) The series' letterer, Tom Orzechowski, writes a two-parter. It's not good.
- Spawn palling around with Houdini in a flying car is too weird.
- Ukrainians as villains is interesting, given current events.

Jayson is on page 75 of 157

Notes:
(1) These first issues do a bit of retconning.
- The legend of St. George and the Dragon was based on a battle between Violator and medieval Spawn.
- Up to now, the story was that Al sold his soul to the devil to see Wanda again, but here we get the actual truth.
(2) It's interesting to see that Capullo started off as a McFarlane clone.
- Probably why he got the job.
