Decided to re-read this one, as I found it to be one of the best in the Alfred/Saxon saga. I also felt like reading a male narrative after 'Bella, Bella, Bella' ;) I'm looking forward to the next; 'Death of Kings' (due out Sept. 2011).

I'm writing more, so reading less, again. Lord Uhtred has sworn an oath to serve another, besides King Alfred. Though some oaths are made out of duty or need. Others are made out of necessity and love. Uhtred hates priests, though he considers two priests good friends. Historically interesting too, although it does stray from known facts into fictional drama.

There's barely a boring page in this book. I'm just along for the ride ;)

Lord Uhtred of Bebbanburg's life is certainly never boring! Nor does it always go as planned.
