Writing is decent and it's refreshing to see fancy Delhi, but the tropes and references seem a bit too on the nose and I am concerned about how the demon/ horror/ trauma/ mental health are going to be explained and handled. Getting classic horror othering, victim blaming and exploiting trauma vibes, but I really hope I'm wrong.

It isn't the best sign that the description of Pia's gallery of femme demons is the most interesting thing so far and I would happily trade this book to get to peruse the paintings.
It's fine enough, but it's halfway through and has just been a story about a bourgeois Indian woman, which isn't the horror as advertised.
