I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book so much. At the start it had the feel of the bloated SF movies I go to see, all action and no ideas, (while I wait for someone to come up with an intelligent and well executed film). Well I have been pleasantly surprised so far. The story is okay, the romance very low key, and the notion of saving the world . . . well it's there but not moving forward on steroids.
