Jacoby was one of the founders of the club in the early years. He eventually became president of the club and managed it during World War I. He would live long enough to see Borussia Dortmund, when the first championship in 1956 and be the first German team to ever win a European trophy in 1966. He died in 1979 and was relocated in Dortmund and 2013.
