Thanks for reading this book and bringing it to my attention. I had never heard of the band and have been rocking Flowers Of Evil on repeat. So good! I can pick out four or five bands that have definitely been influenced by them. I cannot wait to check out more!

Their first album, Bergtatt, is one of my all time favourite albums. It's a completely different sound though, as they started out as a black metal band. Shadows of the Sun is one of my favourites too. There is a cover of Black Sabbath's Solitude on there, which is excellent. Have been listening to Childhood's End a lot recently too, which is a psychedelic album of covers of songs from the 60's! Such a lot of variety in their discography, you are in for a treat!
Since your update, I've been spinning Bergtatt. This is next level great. Love the atmosphere. I definitely have to check out that cover album as well. Thanks again!!
That's great! It does have a great atmosphere, love the folk elements. It's an album that I always listen to all the way through, every song is perfect.
I have had "I Troldskog Faren Vild" on constant repeat. This is so ahead of its time. The composition as a whole is wonderful. You are spot on with the folk elements. It is fused so well. The music evokes a wide range of emotion. I especially like bands who can take a heavy song and fuse it with melancholy moments. Opeth is another that comes to mind.
Yes I love that too, the raw, aggressive metal vocals and the melodic, ethereal elements compliment each other so well. The album after this one, Kveldssanger, is an acoustic folk album, no metal whatsoever, then the one after that, Nattens Madrigal, is a pure black metal album. Bergtatt is my favourite though, its just perfect! It amazes me that they were only 17 years old when they did it!
