The first book was actually pretty good. It's nothing groundbreaking and very overdone tropes, but still well done. I'm surprised so few have read these books. There's zero hype. The romance between Val and Nor is really sweet if you like MM. I do like Kier and Thiea, but they are pretty generic.

After using Calibre's text-to-speech option for so long it is SO hard to try to read a book normally. It's been life-changing since visual dyslexia has always meant I've struggled when reading. Tracking from line to line cohesively is hard no matter how many o's they had me fill in to try to get me to read normally as a kid. Not the best method tbh. Doesn't even make sense.
It sucks, but I may DNF for now.
