I skipped the rest of the chapter on "flinching", because the author started victim-blaming. Skipped several chapters after that too. And taking a break now because she basically just said she's not a dog person and "barely tolerates [her] own dog" that she got for her husband. This started off as a good book for me, but now I think the author's despicable. Forcing myself to read the end portion of the book...
