(1) I'd totally forgotten about Agent Gale's quest to find Alana through her associates.
- Now the last issue doesn't feel as tacked-on as it had read on its own.
(2) Similarly, it's nice to know the emergence of Squire's powers at the end of issue #63 were foreshadowed two books earlier.
- He gets a glimpse of his birthright: reminded he's by nature a prince, not a pauper.

Notes:
(1) Every so often Vaughan throws in a "bloody" or a "I haven't the foggiest" to remind us these characters speak in British accents.
- Though, I suppose we're dealing in fantasy here, so anything goes.
(2) This arc really isn't about the main plot, it's about the subplots.
- What happens to Alana and the kids here isn't as important as everyone caught in their wake.

Notes:
(1) One of the most appealing things about "Saga" is how each issue's ending makes you want to read the next one immediately.
- They're not always cliffhangers, but it's the same effect.
- So, this series, more than most others, is a different experience reading in singles than in trade.
- I've read all the issues, now it's time to see how they flow as a single book.
