oh, how I hated this...but loved the musical

Oh no! You hated the book? I loved it. I didn't get to see the musical *sad face* I heard it was great though. :)

I despised it. I mean, really badly. I gave it to a friend and told them I didn't care if they used it for toilet paper. I have only thrown away one other book, like in the trash. If my friend hadn't wanted to check it out, I would have thrown it in the garbage which is normally a major crime to me.

Omg, lol. What did you hate about it?

Well, I thought he was trying too hard to be controversial. I guess I grew up on the movies, watching it every year and I wasn't really ready for someone to take the land of Oz and turn it into such a horrible place. I have read the first couple of books that L. Frank Baum wrote and to be fair, Oz is much much odder than the movie ever made it out to be...but I still think there was an innocence to the stories that was taken away by this new book. I have heard though, that his other stories are quite good, the ones not based on Oz. I think I bought one of his other books used, but haven't read it yet.
