Excellent coverage of how baseball was in a precarious situation as the U.S. entered WWII. Fortunately FDR was a big baseball fan and gave the " Green Light" to continue but as the manpower demands for the military continued to surge, big league rosters were depleted. This affected the high profile stars such as Greenberg, Feller, etc. but also minor league players who stepped in to replace them.
