Ugh this makes me mad! I get the intent but that doesn't mean I have to like it!
What I did notice is that it....kind of feels like Kuang is making a mockery of some criticisms of Babel....Unless it's a coincidence and I'm overthinking it. And I have to say I prefer the more technical prose than this conversational style, I don't think it suits her as well. At the very least, it's a relatively easy read.

idk if i’m vibing w the writing style and pacing tbh. and the protagonist is quite insufferable (good bc that’s the intent, bad bc i’m annoyed while reading)
