While I can appreciate the intent of Meistercraft, the play didn't make an awful lot of sense. Maybe because 90% of it was in German, but still...

I'm going to assume Twain was expecting German to remain America's second language. Skimming most of this play because it's largely in German.

I feel there would be very little difference if they replaced parliament with a horde of screaming apes. Probably get more done. Feel kind of bad when he says it was an event that would be remembered for centuries to come. Pretty sure no one remembers it at all.

1897: Looks like Austria will have smooth sailing from here on out. Feel bad knowing that not twenty years later, things take a turn for the explode-y.

The telelctroscope sounds like a marvelous invention. To think a phone system that allows you to interact and communicate with people half a world away. If only such a thing were real. ;D

Finally up to the story that is the only reason I started reading this.

That first story was awesome.
