My author started off the book by describing how he felt during a flashback using descriptive adjectives. He describes what he looks like and how his father left him and his mother on their own. Using mini-flashback and descriptive words and giving a background on his life provides information to the reader that makes them want to stick around and find out more about the character.

The book uses Spanish words on each page, so it's helpful to me as I am trying to learn Spanish. I like the format of the text, the pages are short and the author presents the story like poetry with a lot of descriptive writing.
