Jared Saltz How do you like this compared to some of the other volumes on Plato? Also, you need to send me your comps list...

Robert Murphy he takes a different approach and goes chronologically through Plato's dialogues (he is not super firm on the dates but groups them in three general groups). It's different than Reale's systematic examination of Plato. However, Guthrie is not nearly as passionate about Plato as Reale, making his writing more dry. Guthrie's treatment of certain topics within the dialogues is helpful, though. But overall, I feel like there are better books on Plato out there and am reading this because it was on my comp list.
