So far, Shirin seems to really enjoy breakdancing and she’s super physically fit (I think) because she’s doing hard dance moves and runs 10 miles before school every morning. Ocean (a boy who keeps talking to her) is TOTALLY into her. Shirin makes sure she doesn’t “have time for crushes” but like it or not she’s into him too. She just doesn’t understand her feelings for him yet.

Basically, Shirin and Ocean were so in love and they were hanging out a lot. But they were very controversial and things started to heat up. Ocean is a top notch basketball player but since people still have that awful stereotypes on Muslims, they don’t support it and it’s costing Ocean his basketball career. SHIRIN WAS FORCED TO BREAK UP WITH HIM. Ocean was literally begging to stay with her. It’s so sad 😭

I am seriously enjoying this book. One of Shirins teachers humiliated her in class for being Muslim and Ocean wanted to fight him 😳🤭🤭. OMGG it was so cute 😭

OMG this Ocean kid REEEAALLY likes her. He’s trying to get to know her more and is really trying to make Shirin comfortable around him. Shirin has been bullied throughout high school and she doesn’t know how to handle some liking her. They’re so adorable. 🤭

Right off the bat the book is very interesting and they’ve already gotten right into the main problem in the story. The main characters name js Shrini and she’s being treated unfairly at school for being Muslim. This story takes place a year or two after 9/11 where there’s this awful stereotype about Muslim people.
