Still phenomenal, but I just had a moment where I realized how much being around students has sunk in when I snort-laughed at the line, “Dear lord, keep me away from the devil’s taint.”

There’s a great balance of historical fiction—where it’s giving me “Crucible” and “The VVitch” vibes—and dark fantasy—where it’s really reminiscent of Neil Gaiman.

Patriarchy, Puritanical hypocrisy, religious persecution, and demons and spells and charms galore.

Absolutely loving this so far.
