Chapter 72 is a standout in what otherwise is a borderline uninteresting section ch62-94.

I was reading a quite exquisite chapter about an entripid and yet hapless protagonist. Now, a note about the sentence prior. It was out of toil that it was written. On another note, it deserves mention that the book I'm reading contains many an endless and unrelated passage.

Chapter 61 is a microcosm of the whole book. Halfway!

I am rereading this text now. I last read it in 2016 for a summer class with Gary Williams. I found his biography and it says he taught at the University of Idaho since 1973 and became the department chair. His specialties were in 19th century American literature. I recall when he taught the class he lamented that probably no one would be reading and studying the 1800s literature much any more.
