The hypothesis of this interesting book is that it was our (premodern humans) alliance with newly domesticated dogs that finally pushed Neanderthals to extinction. Fairly technical discussion of tbe genetic and paleographic evidence…but presented in a way that's accessible. Worth your time if you (like me) geek out on evolutionary and anthropological discussion!
