finished chapter 1 for class. love the writing and tracing of historiography in maritime history. the theoretical shift away from eurocentric world system theories and braudelian frameworks towards indian ocean as an intra-regional framework lends an interconnected insight to perspectives in economics, capital, labour, and flow of ideas and culture across the sea. Hopefully will come back to this in this year!
