Page numbers and % read don’t match up on my copy of the eBook. I have really been struggling with reading this one. This is going to have to be a DNF for me. Review to come.

This is like that Twilight book where Bella keeps putting herself in danger to see Edward, only this chick is too dense to realize she’s doing it. You wouldn’t be a Damsel in Distress if you didn’t put yourself in that situation to begin with. I only have so much sympathy for you when you do it to yourself. TSTL MC h. 🤦♀️

Her borderline abusive ex called her and insisted that he see her at his place and gave a sketchy address. She goes, tells no one she is going, brings no one and I guess she walked because rather than do a drive by to determine if it was safe enough to get out and go (dilapidated house, empty neighborhood), she’s walking and literally runs into him when she turns to leave. … Not impressed.

This woman is not well…it’s a little painful to read. I get it, her ex is possessive to the point of stalker-y and she is fixated on the gargoyle and with all of this time travel, magic and NO ONE TELLING HER WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON and she is going to make bad choices, but come on now!

The plot thickens!! What was Gram doing there?!? And the scene with the cop, perfection!

I’m wondering how this is going to turn out. Very interesting Beauty and the Beast-esque re-telling of sorts.

“Nancy felt as though she were drowning in uncertainty lately. It was like she couldn’t keep up with her own life and she wasn’t entirely sure when she got so far behind.”

She had never realized being in a relationship could be even lonelier than being alone.
Again, PREACH.

“I wish,” she repeated, gathering herself, “that I’ll finally find the deep, never-ending, inspiring happiness that I deserve.” AMEN SISTER! You, me and the rest of the world both!
